GOOD NEWS FOR YOUR WEEK
TGIM - Thank God It’s Monday!
The Word Is: This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
The Point Is: Everyone has heard of TGIF, “Thank God It’s Friday.” It seems most people agonize through the week with a “grin and bear it” attitude. The general consensus is, “I can’t wait until Friday.” Then when Friday finally arrives, it’s TGIF! time because the weekend is almost here. But what kind of life is that? Why wait for the weekend to enjoy life when you can live each day to the fullest? Start each week with TGIM! “Thank God it’s Monday!” Every day is the Lord’s Day. Therefore, if God is in control of your life, every day can be a good day regardless of what you’re doing or what happens. Furthermore, you can face every day with a sense of joyful expectancy.
The Application Is: Have you entrusted your life to the Lord? If you have, then you can awake each morning with joyful anticipation. You are His and the day is His. You’re in good hands in the Lord! So, thank God it’s Monday, rejoice and be glad in it. TGIM! Then keep right on going through the week… TGIT! TGIW! TGIT! TGIF! TGIS! TGIS! Now that’s a good attitude!
Have a great week,

GOOD NEWS FOR YOUR WEEK
TGIM! - Thank God It’s Monday!
The Word Is: Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 5:26-27
The Point Is: We’ve all had those frustrating, exasperating moments. Being tempted to get mad, throw a fit, or strike out in anger is one thing, but to give in to those thoughts and feelings and become angry is something else altogether. If we don’t get our way, someone wrongs us, or we simply don’t like how things are going; then our typical human response is one of anger, followed by verbal and often physical retaliation. Anger is a powerful motivating force that often results in harmful, destructive behavior and sometimes even illegal or perhaps fatal consequences. We live in a hostile environment, fueled by an undercurrent of anger that permeates our global community. The prevalent philosophy seems to be, “Get them before they get you,” or “Don’t get mad, get even.” Preemptive strikes are becoming the order of the day. Most people walk around with a chip on their shoulder, a volcano about to erupt, just seething with animosity. Anger is evident in such things as road rage, domestic violence, being blasted with profanity, arguing, throwing things, becoming uncooperative, a mean look, or simply the silent treatment. It has gotten so bad that our society has had to develop a program of anger management.
But fortunately, God has the real solution! In Ephesians 4:26 we are admonished that when we get angry, it is imperative that we don’t continue to sin by stubbornly refusing to resolve our conflict and therefore allowing it to escalate. Ephesians 4:27 goes on to say that continuing to harbor such a deep-seated attitude as anger will, in effect, give the devil open access to our lives, thus granting him the opportunity to act out his evil deeds. Make no mistake about it, such an ungodly work of the flesh as anger is a sinful attitude that left unchecked can only make matters worse. Furthermore, if it weren’t considered a sin, we certainly wouldn’t have this Divine imperative to resolve it before sundown. The Scripture indicates that God intends for us to deal with it, and to do it right away!
The Application Is: Therefore, take a moment to prayerfully consider what has been presented. Could this describe you? Ask God to show you if you have anger smoldering within. Many people’s anger has been accumulating since childhood. Although they may have grown accustomed to it, the inward pressure and outward effects have still been very detrimental to their lives and relationships. God’s solution to anger is to deal with it swiftly, before it gets blown out of proportion. Confess the sin of anger and resolve the conflict today before it gets any worse. God has forgiven us our trespasses, making it possible for us to truly forgive others.
God’s way is always for you to receive your forgiveness and forgive your offenders. You are able to do this once you have given God His rightful place as Lord of your life. You must submit to His control over your life and trust Him to render justice on your behalf. It is bad enough that we give place to the devil by becoming angry, but to harbor such anger, cultivating it, and then allowing it to spill over into other situations is even worse. Once that happens, it becomes a raging wildfire, burning out of control. It will destroy not only your life, but also many innocent people along the way. So, when you become angry, don’t continue to sin by allowing the sun to go down upon your wrath, thus giving place to the devil. No, never! You must not give place to the devil by allowing him room to roam in your life due to your unresolved anger. Nip it in the bud!

GOOD NEWS FOR YOUR WEEK
TGIM - Thank God It’s Monday!
The Word Is: To the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2,3
The Point Is: The God of all wisdom and knowledge became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. Thus, Jesus Christ is the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge. His life demonstrated this in every way. So, what’s the mystery? The mystery, according to Colossians 1:27, is that the Lord of glory, in all His glorious wisdom and knowledge, has come to indwell you - a mere mortal. Now that’s amazing!
The Application Is: In Christ, you now contain the source of all wisdom and knowledge. God has become flesh in you, by virtue of the indwelling presence of Jesus Christ your Lord. You have become His hiding place. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that are hidden in Christ are now on deposit within you. What a privilege! Your part is to acknowledge the mystery of His indwelling presence, then tap into the source of all wisdom and knowledge available to you through your Lord Jesus Christ. He is your wisdom and knowledge!

GOOD NEWS FOR YOUR WEEK
TGIM - Thank God It’s Monday!
The Word Is: I speak not of myself, but the Father that dwells in me, He does the works. John 14:10
The Point Is: It’s all about the source! Jesus Christ made it clear that the source of His activity was none other than God the Father. The works of Christ originated from the Father. Jesus demonstrated this by the way He lived. He lived a life of total dependency on the Father. There was no independent action!
The Application Is: Independence is the fallacy of this age. You must reject that notion completely. Purpose to live your life in total dependency on the Lord. He is your source. Rely totally upon Him, and He will do the work.
