“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers . . .”<\/strong><\/em> Ephesians 6:18<\/p>\n Praying with others requires sensitivity. You should be sensitive to the person, sensitive to the time and place, but most of all sensitive to the Holy Spirit! Ultimately you must do as the Holy Spirit leads. When you do, even if the person feels awkward, your prayer won’t hurt them.<\/p>\n For example, in October 2019 while on a mission trip discipling ministers deep in the Amazon forrest, I cultivated a friendship with the chief cook at the Hotel. On the last day I went to tell her goodby and give her one of my books in Portuguese. Before I left I asked if I could pray with her. She said yes, so I prayed out loud for her. Our Lord\u2019s presence enveloped her as He ministered to her needs. After I prayed she was so grateful that she gave me a big hug. PTL!
