Selecting government leaders has very serious ramifications.<\/strong>\u00a0When selecting government leaders to oversee the largest business\u00a0in the US\u00a0and the most powerful nation in the world, please keep in mind the following:<\/p>\n It is not a popularity contest! What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0The United States Constitution Article II, Section 1, Clause 8 gives the oath of office for the President of the United States as follows: \u201cI do solemnly swear [or affirm]\u00a0that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n This means it is imperative that you carefully and prayerfully select<\/strong>\u00a0the candidates who will best preserve, protect and defend the US Constitution. Therefore, you should select the persons who have demonstrated the most appreciation, commitment, and regard for the Constitution. Who are the\u00a0candidates that most closely\u00a0adhere\u00a0to the standards and values established by the Constitution? In light of the magnitude of the office, you should select the persons who are most qualified to oversee our government at every level. These persons must understand economics and finances in order to make wise business decisions. It is also essential to pick the persons who have the most wisdom and experience to make responsible decisions regarding national and international calamities. The ideal candidates should be persons of proven character and competence, who are willing to be public servants committed to preserving our country at the national, state and local level.<\/p>\n Clearly, the selection of a\u00a0nation\u2019s leaders is vitally important,<\/strong>\u00a0and that is why the Lord God Almighty instructs us to pray diligently and take the election process very seriously. \u201cPray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity\u201d (1 Timothy 2:2NLT).<\/p>\n GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS SHOULD BE ABOUT POLICIES, NOT PEOPLE. Select the candidates\u00a0who best support\u00a0the policies that are in keeping with the Constitution and will preserve our great nation.<\/strong><\/p>\n Are you looking for the perfect leaders?<\/strong> Sorry, you will not find any, at least not in this world. But then you\u2019re not perfect either, for all have sinned, missed the mark of perfection and come short of God\u2019s glorious standard\u00a0(Romans 3:23). There is only one perfect leader. His name is King Jesus (Hebrews 5:9). He does not require your vote. His Word is settled in Heaven. King David acknowledged this in his prayer to God, \u201cWealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength\u201d (1 Chronicles 29:12 NLT).<\/p>\n Yes, God is in control.<\/strong>\u00a0However,\u00a0He has given\u00a0you, as a citizen of the United States,\u00a0the responsibility of obeying the laws of the land, and that includes your civic\u00a0duty\u00a0to vote for those who will lead this great nation. Sometimes it may appear to be a matter of selecting the best of the worst. But at least you are given a choice, which is not the case in many countries.<\/p>\n Voting for our leaders\u00a0is an amazing privilege\u00a0and awesome responsibility.<\/strong>\u00a0So, you should fulfill your civic duty by\u00a0\u00a0prayerfully and carefully voting. Be sure to choose wisely, the future of our nation and the world depends upon it. The wrong leaders can dramatically change a country for the worse: as in the case of\u00a0Germany, USSR, China, Cuba, and Venezuela. Therefore, pray that the Lord God Almighty would\u00a0rule and over rule in the affairs of this nation. Ask God to deliver us from evil.<\/p>\n

\nIt is not like choosing a favorite ball team!
\nIt is not about picking a celebrity!
\nIt is not about a candidate\u2019s eloquence in speech!
\nIt is not about who will give you the most benefits!
\nIt is not about your personal preferences!
\nIt is not about your ancestral family loyalties!<\/p>\n
