FLYING HIGH<\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

THE WORD:\u00a0<\/b>\u201cEven the youth shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.\u201d <\/i><\/strong>Isaiah 40:30-31<\/p>\n

THE POINT:<\/b> Weary and faint: now that\u2019s a very grim picture. And we\u2019re not just talking about older people either. This condition is endemic to people of all<\/i> ages. The stressors of life are enormous<\/i>: job losses, retirement losses, home losses, and the list goes on. Due to the deteriorating conditions of our global economy, as well as a myriad of other human tragedies, many people are becoming weary and faint (weary\u2014tired, very tired; faint\u2014extremely exhausted, overwhelmed).<\/p>\n

People are giving out and giving up<\/i> in growing numbers. But that is not necessarily bad if . . . if giving up means ceasing from one\u2019s human<\/i> efforts and waiting upon the Lord.<\/i> Waiting? But waiting is the last thing most people are inclined to do. Most people are running around frantically doing everything they can just to keep body and soul together. The result: many are becoming weary and faint to the nth degree!<\/p>\n

THE APPLICATION:<\/b> So what\u2019s a person to do? The Scriptures are clear; it\u2019s inevitable that under the pressures of life everyone will eventually grow weary and faint. However, there is a viable alternative. You can accept God\u2019s solution. The Lord God is almighty; nothing<\/i> is too hard for Him.<\/p>\n

You, on the other hand, are not designed to handle the pressures and problems of life, at least not in your own human strength.<\/i> Your human strength is inadequate and your human resources are limited, but that\u2019s OK. God has a much better idea, a higher way for you to live. He can enable you to rise up with wings as eagles. Then you will soar like an eagle above the storm, using the storm to actually work for you, rather than against you.<\/p>\n

The result: you will be able to run<\/i> the race of life without becoming weary, and you will be able to walk<\/i> through the storms of life without growing faint. Now that\u2019s flying high\u2014living life on the highest plain! But, you must<\/i> wait!<\/i> Stop what you\u2019re doing. Cease from all your human efforts and rely totally upon the Lord. He will renew your strength. God has a new, superior Source of strength for you.<\/p>\n

The Lord Jesus Christ Himself is the strength of your life. Therefore, as you wait upon the Lord, He will empower you!<\/i> Then you will be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. His marvelous grace will cause you to arise and walk triumphantly through the storms of life. He will even enable you to run, while others around you are growing weary and faint. Therefore, wait upon the Lord, and you\u2019ll be flying high!
\n<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

THE PRAYER: “<\/b>Oh Lord, thank you for showing me that everyone becomes weary and faint. But You are available to be my strength. Therefore, I acknowledge that I am weak. So I give up. I trust You to be the strength of my life. Enable me to live my life without growing weary or faint.”<\/p>\n
