\u201cOh, if only God would bless me!\u201d<\/b> And so we pray, \u201cGod bless me . . . with wisdom, with patience, in this decision, in my job, as I teach . . .\u201d and the list goes on. Yet, with all our sincere seeking and praying, we miss the blessing. Why?
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>One day<\/b> as I was frantically searching through the house, my wife asked, \u201cWhat are you looking for?\u201d \u201cMy keys\u201d I replied.\u201cWhat is that in your hand?\u201d she asked. Much to my amazement, I discovered I had picked up the keys without realizing it.
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>What is that in your hand?<\/b> Just consider what God has given you in Christ. \u201cBlessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ\u201d (Ephesians 1:3). This scripture states that God has already blessed us with all the blessings.
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>God\u00a0has blessed us,<\/b> past tense. What have we been blessed with? Everything! We have been blessed with the blessing of Christ Himself. Because we have Christ, we have all the spiritual blessings of heaven. Through Christ, all the heavenly resources are at our disposal. You are blessed!
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The blessing comes<\/b> to us through Jesus Christ, and is received by faith (Galatians 3:14). \u201cKnowing that you are thereunto called, that you might inherit a blessing\u201d (1 Peter 3:9). The blessing is your inheritance. Therefore, possess your possessions! Simply accept by faith God\u2019s bountiful provisions for your new life in Christ. So take the blessing, it\u2019s yours.
\n<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhy?<\/b> It is certainly not to consume God\u2019s blessings upon your own lusts. God has blessed you so that you might be able to render a blessing. What God told Abraham applies to you as well. \u201cI will bless you and you will be a blessing\u201d (Genesis 12:2). Yes, God has blessed you \u201cin Christ,\u201d and now you can be a blessing to others!
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Most\u00a0of us<\/b> don\u2019t fully realize just how good we\u2019ve got it, much less what to do about it. It\u2019s time to count your true blessings, so you can make the most of them. Therefore, be thankful to God for all your blessings both great and small. You are blessed! So be who you are . . . a blessing!<\/span><\/p>\n

Count your blessings, name them one by one,<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Count your many blessings, see what God has done!<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Blessings overshadow burdens every time.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

And you have been blessed with the greatest blessing of all <\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

in Jesus Christ your Lord! <\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
