GOOD NEWS FOR YOUR WEEK<\/span>
\nTGIM – Thank God It\u2019s Monday!<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

THE WORD IS:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. For we which have believed do enter into rest. <\/em><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Hebrews 4:9, 4:3 <\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>THE POINT IS:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/strong> <\/span>God has spoken; there remains a rest for His people. \u00a0God looks out for His own. \u00a0He has prepared a place for us\u2014a place of rest. \u00a0And what kind of place is this place of rest? \u00a0It is the place of His abiding presence. \u00a0The Old Testament described this rest as a land flowing with milk and honey where God would abide with His people. \u00a0This is indicative of God\u2019s loving care and bountiful provision. \u00a0God\u2019s rest was also described as a place of victory and peace in spite of treacherous enemies, insurmountable obstacles, and adverse circumstances. \u00a0As it was then, so it is to be now, but on a much grander scale.<\/em> The first rest was external, primarily physical.<\/em> But the rest that now remains for the people of God is internal, primarily spiritual.<\/em> Jesus explained to His disciples in John 14:16-20 that while He had been with<\/em> them as an external<\/em> presence, He would soon be within<\/em> them by His Spirit as an indwelling<\/em> presence. \u00a0In Matthew 11:29 He described this as a rest unto your souls.<\/em> Such is the rest<\/em> that He has prepared for you! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/span> THE APPLICATION IS:<\/strong><\/span> <\/strong> How do you enter<\/em> into His glorious rest? \u00a0By faith!<\/em> This rest comes from God, who after creating this marvelous universe, did rest from all His works. \u00a0Before you can enter into this rest, you must first recognize and admit that such a rest is only available through God. \u00a0Then you must cease from all your works (your fleshly efforts) and stop trying to do anything for God.<\/em> You can\u2019t improve on God. \u00a0He does all things well! \u00a0Even as God the Father finished the works of the original creation, so Jesus Christ the Son has finished the works of the new creation.<\/em> When He did, He boldly declared, \u201cIt is finished!\u201d \u00a0Thus, Jesus Christ is the Source of rest for you today.<\/em> You enter His rest by faith, and faith alone!<\/em> You simply live your life by relying in faith<\/em> upon the One, and only One, who has done everything\u2014Jesus Christ the Lord. \u00a0Once you enter into His rest, goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life. \u00a0Sometimes it may not look good or feel good, but rest assured,<\/em> it\u2019s all God and therefore it\u2019s all good for you! \u00a0Passivity, not a chance! \u00a0You\u2019ll most definitely be doing something, but the Source of the doing will be Him, not you. <\/em>When you enter His rest there will be a release<\/em> of His Spirit. \u00a0Then, His good and perfect works will flow through you. \u00a0So it all works out, if you rest . . . in the Lord! <\/span><\/p>\n
