“The grace of Christ” is the gospel…the gospel of grace! (Galatians 1:6-7) The “gospel of grace” has always been in jeopardy. Distortions in the grace message are constantly occurring. This results in the grace message being diluted, corrupted or exaggerated. These distortions, along with other secondary issues, are causing grace-based ministers to become polarized. The unifying factor among all grace-based ministers must be the common bond of our union with Christ.
The Apostle Paul declared that he purposed to focus on “Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). And if the gospel does not emphasize CHRIST (of Him, to Him, and through Him), then it’s not grace. And it is certainly not Life! Because Life is CHRIST. Only as we emphasize Jesus Christ and His Cross can we effectively advance the Kingdom of Heaven to the glory of God. Furthermore, if we are truly operating in the grace of God, then it will be expressed with unconditional love and acceptance.
May God grant us the grace to put aside our differences, so that we might work together for the common goal of the gospel . . . “the gospel of grace.”
